These 75 waterside dwellings constitute one of the winning schemes in a competition for timber-frame housing. The layout in diagonals stems from the structure of the dwelling unit: four squares (3.9 x 3.9 m.) shifted out of alignment about a core (1.2 x 2.2 m.) Each square has an individually oriented lean-to roof. The verticality of the frontage is consolidated by the protruding core, which in fact contains central heating and not the stair.
