Inspired by the well-publicized success of Blom's https://www.architectureguide.nl/project/item/prj_id/960" class="inline_link">pole dwellings and obsessed with energy-saving and geometry, designers turned to other utopian projects including globe and pyramid dwellings. A number of these globe dwellings were built. The globe component consists of two hemispheres of glass-reinforced cement 5.5 m. in diameter perched on a cylindrical understructure with a circular stair.
