This workers' housing complex, set up with capital from the legacy of a family of shipowners, is together with https://www.architectureguide.nl/project/item/prj_id/723" class="inline_link">Agneta Park in Delft one of the most striking examples of 'philanthropic' housing. The 50 traditionally built dwellings are combined in groups of two and four into freestanding villa-like buildings sited in a park in English landscape style whose principal elements are a fancifully-shaped ornamental lake and a circular open space later provided with a sundial.
