Haan realized various housing projects and a sports centre on the https://www.architectureguide.nl/project/item/prj_id/560" class="inline_link">campus at Drienerlo. The staff residences but more especially the pyramid dwellings and patio units show Haan's interest in African cultures. The complex of patio units, slightly sunken and largely of one level, is a concatenation of clusters each composed of students' rooms and communal facilities grouped round a patio. The patios are reached from a cycleway and footpath running across the roof of the complex. A large patio at the heart of the complex serves as a community square. The pyramid dwellings consist of stacked clusters of student rooms whose number and degree of collectivity diminishes with height.
