These new-build infills set in historical street elevations are candid references to the Modern tradition: masses of glass, a design entirely dictated by function and even a mullionless corner window à la Rietveld-Schröder. For all that, the infills adopt several of the classic principles governing their nineteenth-century neighbours, strictly adhering to the building line and having a symmetrical facade composition and vertical tripartition including plinth and cornice. The most striking feature of these flats is the flexible floor plan whereby four partitions set in a millwheel configuration, slide out from a central core of sanitary facilities.
