HOUSING BLEYENHOEK
C.J.M. WEEBER, 1973-1976, Vrankenstraat e.o., Dordrecht
Bleyenhoek is an example of the kind of urban renewal architecture that the Ministry of Housing likes to describe as 'good and cheap'. The basic arrangement, stacked maisonettes with access galleries, has been compared by Weeber to that of Brinkman's Spangen https://www.architectureguide.nl/project/item/prj_id/252" class="inline_link">housing block. The position of the living room in both lower and upper dwellings varies depending on the situation. Rudimentary sloping roofs appeared after appeals by agitated housewives not happy with the idea of a flat roof.
