MVRDV, 1997-, Flight Lane e.o., Eindhoven
This business park not far from Eindhoven Airport takes the public highway, often a left-over space in business parks, as a design departure point. A system of winding single-lane streets divides the area into six sectors for developing, each of which can cultivate its own identity within the organically formed residual space between the roads. Much thought has been given to designing the roads, the lighting and the grass verges. There are also paths through the area for pedestrians and cyclists. Future development between the loops is to be compact and follow the building line to give the whole an urban quality.
