RUDOLF STEINER CLINIC
J.W.E. BUIJS, J.B. LÜRSEN, 1926-1928, Nieuwe Parklaan 58, Den Haag
In the run-up to designing this hospital, Jan Buijs spent a month in Dornau studying the Goetheanum, built according to the anthroposophical principles of Rudolf Steiner. The elongated hospital building stands on a sloping site, its central portion ranging more or less rectangular wards along a central corridor. The two extremities are capricious though angular of form and asymmetrical.
