Tschumi Pavilion

For the event ‘What a Wonderful World! Music videos in architecture’ in 1990, five pavilions were built in which videoclips were shown. Only two remain: a glass pavilion by Bernard Tschumi and the OMA bus stop.
The OMA Videopbusstop pays homage to De Stijl, by way of the three orthogonally placed perpendicular planes, but mostly to Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion. In particular, the use of materials is Miesian, glass (roof), steel (a steel curtain), marble/stone (with words that refer to the displayed video clips). A straight quote from the Barcelona Pavilion is the cross-shaped stainless steel column.
The pavilions by Coop Himmelblau, Peter Eisenman and Zaha Hadid were demolished after the event was finished.
