This museum devoted to the work of Van Gogh exhibits its extensive collection on the entrance level and round a void extending to the building's roof. The hand of Rietveld, whose outline scheme was completed by his partners, is recognizable in the composition of uninterrupted planes at the main entrance and, considering the building's blocky outer appearance, the surprisingly open and spacious interior. Between 1995 and 1999 it was restored and extended by Greiner Van Goor Architecten. During restoration the museum was enlarged at the rear with a circular https://www.architectureguide.nl/project/item/prj_id/1658" class="inline_link">exhibition building by the Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa.
