The basic theme of this library is daylight penetration. On entering, the visitor is drawn to a well-lit interior zone, from which he follows a corridor lit from above to the books, housed in a somewhat darker, intermediary area. Book in hand he then makes for the much brighter zone of tables along the facade. The loadbearing structure consists of a system of brickwork piers and arched concrete beams laid breadthways.
Since 2004 the library is part of the Apeldoorn cultural centre CODA (Cultuur onder dak Apeldoorn).
