Libraries

Autonomous masses express the various functions of this library housing Holland's largest collection of books. The actual storage area, a substantially blank-walled block, borders on the main library building which has two large wells to illuminate the reading rooms. A maintenance department and a triangular block for allied institutions stand away from the main building leaving pedestrian passages between the blocks. White aluminium panels clad the exterior.
