This church is a remarkable synthesis of the traditional and modern, described by the Architectural Review as 'Rococo in concrete'. The nearby range of hills inspired its corrugated roof, which in turn spawned the circle motif. lts concrete frame is capped with concrete shell roofing 6 cm. thick with purlins for the acoustics. Local materials provide the finish, mainly from Aachen and the Eifel Mountains in nearby Germany, Vaals being off the beaten track and without a train connection.
The church is demolished in 2004.
