These 36 dwellings nestle in a green belt separating two areas of Almere Buiten. There are three five-house and seven three-house terraces spread across what is shared land. Onix's predilection for barns is here rendered in big burly roof planes and verandas. The dwellings, each of which has its own terrace, stand on artificial mounds two metres high, their underground basement containing space for parking and storage and a hobby room. Wood and aluminium panels grace the facades. In 2007 four comparable freestanding veranda houses were realized on the western rim of Zuidhorn, a village in Groningen province.
