This urban holiday park in historicist style stands at a place where a medieval settlement is said to have been swallowed up by the sea in 1230. Here, 144 privately sold retro townhouses are joined by 106 residences of modern design atop artificial mounds (terpen), exploited by the Landal GreenParks chain. The townhouses are arranged in four quadrants with a water plaza at the centre. At the end of the central main street, reached through a town gateway, is the harbour square with a restaurant (De Waegh), snack bar (De Patatkraem) and café ('t Silt). The whole combines the comforts of city life with such trump cards of the leisure park as the swimming pool, the golf course and water sports facilities.
