Urban Design Chassé Site

Standing on the rim of the Chassé site is this extension to the neighbouring municipal offices, a 126 metre long three-storey office block lifted into space. Simple of form and internal subdivision, it consists of a central corridor with office cubicles on one side and large, freely subdivisible floor areas on the other. The block has an elaborate underlying structure that includes an access route and the car park entrance running obliquely beneath the block. Two glazed volumes on the ground floor sport enormous photoprints over much of their surface. The black facades alternate horizontal bands with deep-set strips of fenestration.
