A disused transformer substation has been converted into offices and stripped of its front facade. As the remaining facades have no windows and daylight penetration is essential, the front facade has been replaced by a narrow suspended glass box with galleries, stairs and lifts. The partitions between the offices and this perimeter corridor area are therefore also of glass. So are the pantries, toilets and small seating areas in the void between the glass skin and the galleries, also in aid of optimum daylighting. This all-glass skin between street and offices gives a good view to the outside world of the informal activity of the media companies housed there. The building is part of the Schiecentrale.
