The gently winding apartment block, a megastructure rising to a maximum of eight levels, is sheltered from the noise of the main road on that side by glass screens and opened up on its south side to the city with ample balconies held in a concrete grid. The block comprises 95 dwelling units: two levels of maisonettes above an underground car park, four levels of ‘standard’ two- and three-room units and at the top communal dwellings for the aged. Just as the building is an assemblage of different dwelling types, so the architecture of its facades is a collage of materials and forms.
