This estate of 299 two-storey units for small families is laid out in L-shaped blocks, pairs of which enfold a green courtyard. The estate as a whole is predicated on a single dwelling type whose principal hallmark is a staggered streetside facade providing the distinctive sawtooth appearance. This arrangement enabled the front facade of the 4.22 m. wide units to be extended, and created space on the street side for both the kitchen and a porch containing the main entrance and access to an internal storeroom.
