BUILDING TYPE:
Industrial and public-utility buildings

This colossus, with a surface area of 264 x 97 metres and 52 metres high, is used to build large ships geared to the width of the Panama Canal. Broadened steel piers added for structural reasons occupy the upper third of the long facades which fold inwards to accommodate them. This goes some way towards tempering the building's length. The head elevations are largely transparent.
