Municipal offices and a theatre occupy a single elaborate building standing on the border between the historic core of IJsselstein and the Vinex district of Zenderpark. The two functions share the entry zone but then part company, with a ramp leading up to the marriage room and a stair to the council chamber. Various sight lines and a route for cyclists and pedestrians slice through the complex. The volumes are clad with a combination of green-tinted glass and profiled glass coloured by the pale green of the insulating panels behind it. Inside, wood adds a third visually defining material to the external palette of glass and concrete.
