Private House De Waal (Amersfoort)
This house for the property developer De Waal was designed adopting the concrete box-form and materials of its neighbours. Working from a clay model (scale 1:50), architect, client and contractors continued to shape both model and building during the building process to create a truly organic architecture. To quote Alberts, 'Rectangular forms make their residents hard, angular, insensitive, rational. A somewhat looser, freer concept leave them more amicable, unrestrained, flexible'.
