BUILDING TYPE:
Housing

Each of the three housing blocks along the sides of this triangular residential estate reacts to the particular qualities of the setting. The gateway building, an urban element stepping up six storeys alongside the approach to a municipal bridge, doubles as a buffer for the neighbourhood beyond. The drive-in houses along the water have living rooms upstairs and big windows looking out over the lakes (Reeuwijkse Plassen). A shared landing stage allows other local residents access to the water. The houses along the busy main road have substantially blank facades on that side and open up to the communal courtyard instead.
