Each luxury apartment in this seven-storey housing block occupies an entire floor. Van Tijen built an apartment for himself on the roof, with a spacious roof terrace looking out over the harbour. The structure consists of a steel frame with wood floors. Without knowing it Van Tijen had designed the first glass curtain wall to be built in the Netherlands. The wired glass in both external glazing and balcony partitions is painted grey where privacy requires. The building was restored in 1995.
