The centrum of Drunen was badly damaged during the liberation in 1944. Here the post-war traditionalist architecture of church and town hall were recently joined by a third block in an attempt to fuse tradition and modernity. The L-shaped ensemble sports an arcade behind which are shops and other public facilities. Above these are two storeys of apartments with rounded mansard roofs and dormers. A raised street at the rear accesses the dwellings. Brickwork in the ensemble features various bonds and a relief designed by Anne Sijbrands.
