Post-war reconstruction in Kralingen was mostly kept within the existing street pattern. This complex of four rows set square to Oostzeedijk deviates slightly from the standard layout by the addition of a shopping arcade and shared private gardens. Yet the architecture is thoroughly traditional. The heads of the blocks have spout gables with a stone front; these are also found at the landings. Relief panels flanked by pilasters are set above the shop doors. The houses are reached through gateways in the less-tall retail block.
