Housing

Dotted throughout Stationsbuurt, a residential quarter in The Hague, are examples of back-to-the-classics housing by the Liège-based architect Charles Vandenhove: a handful of small projects on Hoefkade, Stationsweg, Van Limburg Stirumstraat and Van Hogendorpstraat and one large one on Zieken to replace a Public Works building from the 1950s. The complex is enclosed by De Croissant, a sound-damping stepped block of 162 old-age dwellings on the corner of Groenewegje and Zieken, and a block of 21 town houses on Huijgenspark. De Korfboog, an elliptically-shaped block of 36 up-market units, and Het Paviljoen, a small cylindrical tower with rooms for private practices, assemble in the courtyard.
