Two dark brick residential towers stand in the grounds of a former monastic retreat, Het Cenakel dating from 1905. By concentrating the required number of units in two towers, the green setting was retained and the necessary financial leeway created to restore the old monastery building. Each storey has a large and a small apartment. For the sake of symmetry, the two apartment types have identical panorama windows in the front facade, each with its own balcony and a walkway for window-cleaners. This is abstracted into a horizontal slot by assimilating the intervening strips of wall in the facade plane. The emergency stair at the back adds an asymmetrical note.
