The Van Kempen & Begeer silverworks dating from 1858 has since been converted into the headquarters of the Mexx fashion concern. The U-shaped factory has been extended with a large atrium boasting a tilted glazed facade suitable for fashion shows, an annexe containing a conference room and design studios, and a company restaurant shaped like a merry-go-round. The mirror-glass facades contrast with the traditional existing building; inside, monumental elements, traditional forms and sophisticated materials add up to a congenial atmosphere.
