This is one of the better examples of small-scale housing advocated by the 'Foundation for New Housing Models', or 'New Roof Models' according to cynics. Certainly the most striking aspect of this project is its dovecot-like attic rooms. With sloping roofs of variously coloured tiles, unusual window-shapes and most notably the dark green painted wooden panels this architecture constitutes a modern variant on the traditional picturesque architecture of the Zaandam region.
