This block of housing and shops stands on the corner of two curving streets. Its short side on Nieuwe Binnenweg is pointed up with a six-storey tower as opposed to medium rise along Mathenesserlaan. The wedge-shaped porch on Nieuwe Binnenweg and a kink at the corner enabled Van den Broek to approximate the curve of the street whilst retaining rectangular plans for the dwellings. The ground floor shop windows, for their part, adhere to the building line. Facades dictated by the concrete skeleton alternate strips of brick and steel-framed glass and sport balconies placed asymmetrically and eccentrically.
